Customer Story
Solutions at-a-Glance
IoT IAM solution enables a new emergency communication offering.
Single sign-on (SSO) delivers fast and highly secure authentication.
Reliability ensures safety workers have access to life-saving data.
Security best practices protect against unauthorized access.
With its roots in two-way radios, this communications giant saw an opportunity to expand its service offerings with mobile broadband Internet of Things (IoT) devices that protect personal safety officers (PSOs), like firefighters and rescue workers. By connecting them to a personal network that securely manages and integrates their devices, the company uses these new technologies to enable PSOs to exchange dispatch intelligence and sensor data about their surroundings and health (like temperature and air quality readings) in volatile and potentially life-threatening emergency situations.
The company needed to secure and govern access to sensitive data and IoT devices, while users lacked highly secure single sign-on (SSO) convenience. The solution had to meet mission-critical requirements for high availability, scalability, and performance to ensure maximum uptime. Also, the company wanted to avoid proprietary frameworks that slow deployment times and limit customer use cases and environments.
Ping’s customer identity and access management (CIAM) solution delivers secure, dependable, and expandable identity storage, SSO, governance services, and open standards support to efficiently and reliably connect and manage first responder and device identities
The scalable solution supports additional users and an expanding scope of cloud and Identity as a Service offerings, with minimal resources required. Users have access to a secure personal network and integration with life-saving devices, and SSO offers convenient authentication and quick access. The solution integrates with on-premises, cloud, and virtualized environments, and is compatible with third-party provider protocols. Finally, security best practices and privacy policy management meet regional data regulations.
