How It Works
Using PingOne Verify’s Mobile Web toolkit and Mobile Native SDK, you can streamline user identity verification by capturing a live selfie, scanning/authenticating government-issued IDs, and confirming they match.
Users are asked to provide a live selfie using their mobile device to prove they are who they say they are. Then, the user is prompted to scan their government-issued ID. The selfie is compared to the government ID. If they match, the ID document is validated for authenticity and a signed credential is created using cryptography. The verified information and detailed verification results are available for optional download for up to 30 minutes. Afterward, all identifying information that was collected and extracted is permanently deleted.

Selfie Match with Liveness Detection
As part of the verification process, PingOne Verify requires a user to provide a selfie using their mobile device. PingOne Verify will passively detect and prevent fraudulent behavior by ensuring the selfie image used for verification is a real, live person and not a replayed image, mask, deep fake, or another imposter image. PingOne Verify also uses selfie matching to compare the selfie to the photo of the person on the ID.
PingOne Verify captures images of a user’s government-issued ID. It then leverages external data sources to verify a user’s identity and validate that the ID hasn’t been tampered with or modified. For each ID that PingOne Verify evaluates, it will return a message that the ID has either been validated, is fraudulent, or can’t be determined, along with detailed verification results. A variety of government ID types are supported, including passports and driver’s licenses from countries around the world.
Centrally Manage Verifications
PingOne Verify makes managing individual user verifications easy at any point in the user’s lifecycle. Administrators can require, override, or reset the need for ID verification, as well as view the verification status for each user within the admin console. PingOne Verify also allows you to easily track every related verification event in the administrative dashboard.
Simplify the Administration Experience
PingOne Verify enables administrators to easily configure and manage ID verification policies including setting when verification is required and reviewing and updating a specific user’s status and settings. Additionally, administrators can access dashboards to view usage information and gain insight into the number of user verifications in a certain period of time.
