NextCapital Invests in Seamless Partner Authentication

Objective

NextCapital, a leading provider of enterprise digital advice, aimed to scale its platform by partnering with the world’s largest financial institutions. Their objective was to create an authentication layer that was completely transparent to the end-user, allowing individuals to move from their bank's website to NextCapital's advice tools without a secondary login.

Challenge

Each of NextCapital’s enterprise partners has unique security requirements and their own identity providers. Building custom, one-off integrations for every new partner was not scalable and created significant security overhead. NextCapital needed a flexible, vendor-neutral solution that could support various authentication standards and provide a consistent plug-and-play experience for their B2B2C business model.

Solution

NextCapital selected PingFederate to act as their central federation hub. This allows them to support SAML 2.0 and other open standards to bridge the gap between their platform and their partners' identity systems. By using Ping, NextCapital can securely accept identity tokens from a partner’s system, verify the user, and grant immediate access to personalized financial advice, all in the background without the user ever seeing a NextCapital login screen.
