John Donovan to Support the Rapid Sales Growth of ForgeRock’s Identity Platform, Popular Among Organisations Adopting Next Generation, Secure Digital Business Initiatives
SYDNEY – November 10, 2015 – ForgeRock®, the leading open platform provider of identity management solutions, today announced the appointment of John Donovan as Regional Vice President for Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN. The new appointment further strengthens the company’s global sales team as ForgeRock grows its identity management market share in the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Sydney, Donovan will be responsible for accelerating ForgeRock’s presence across Australia and New Zealand as well as taking on support for expansion across the broader Asia region, focusing on business development and revenue growth as well as reinforcing ForgeRock’s position at the heart of identity management.
“John is a results-driven and decisive executive with significant experience in delivering business IT success. He will play an integral role in our continued regional expansion, assisting clients to optimise their identity management strategies, building value relationships and substantially adding to the experience, skills base and business knowledge of ForgeRock’s consultants and partners in the region,” said Mike Ellis, CEO, ForgeRock.
Donovan has 30 years’ experience in the IT industry and was previously Director of Channel Sales and General Business for VMware in Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility for driving strategies, relationships and revenues for all elements of VMware’s partner ecosystem and Inside Sales teams.
Prior to joining VMware in 2010, John spent two years at Novell developing go-to-market strategies, planning and program development as Vice President for the Asia Pacific channels ecosystem. Before that, John spent 12 years at Symantec in a variety of roles including Vice President of Channel Sales for APJ, Managing Director Symantec Pacific, and other roles including the management of distribution marketing in the US and Canada.
Donovan has also served on the board of the Business Software Association of Australia, the Internet Industry Association and was also a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Critical Infrastructure Taskforce. In addition, he has provided information for guidance on the development of legislation relating to Cybercrime in Australia.
