PingDataGovernance
We are pleased to announce the availability of the PingDataGovernance 7.2 Beta, which enables enterprises to implement user-controlled data privacy on a range of consumer-related API data, like banking records, IoT data, health care records, and more. This beta release includes a new policy administration user interface that gives policy administrators flexibility and confidence in managing attribute-based access control (ABAC). Also, PingDataGovernance can now act as an API gateway, which gives organizations an added layer of protection to prevent data breaches.

The PingDirectory and PingDataGovernance 7.0 release includes new features to put users in control of their data privacy and help enterprises comply with regulatory requirements like GDPR. PingDirectory adds a REST API for managing user privacy settings or fine-grained data consents, allowing enterprises to easily integrate user privacy controls into their applications. Further, PingDataGovernance adds capabilities to check user data consent records, so you can easily enforce privacy settings by applying fine-grained data filtering to your APIs.
The Policy Administration GUI now provides an integrated testing capability where policy writers can define tests, scenarios and assertions used to validate policies. Policy writers can accelerate policy development for new use cases by leveraging testing capabilities alongside a new Policy Administration Guide to establish common testing and administration patterns throughout their organization.
Administrative UI has been enhanced and sideband API makes it possible to integrate with customers’ existing API Gateways for added simplicity. Additionally, the Server Profiles feature allows you to easily deploy and update PingDataGovernance servers in an automated environment.
PingDataGovernance 7.3.0.3 is a cumulative maintenance release for PingDataGovernance 7.3 which introduced performance enhancements and issue fixes.
PingDataGovernance 7.3 provides fine-grained customer data access controls that address business initiatives including consent enforcement, data privacy regulations like CCPA & GDPR, or least-privilege, attribute-level access (i.e., Zero Trust). This release includes a drag-and-drop graphical user interface that externalizes authorization, allowing non-technical users to collaboratively author and test policies in a visual policy tree. This release also includes a new API deployment option, which is particularly helpful in allowing you to allow, block, filter, or obfuscate customer data being accessed by third-parties. See the blog and release notes for more details.
This early access release includes a new suite of testing tools, mitigating the risk of mistakes when multiple teams of stakeholders make policy changes. Additionally, signed deployment packages are now supported, ensuring that one environment does not load a policy set intended for a different environment.
Policy creation can now be delegated to various roles in the company, making it easier for the admins closest to the data to build policies to enhance security and comply with regulations. Additionally, more policy-based testing and enforcement features have been added to enhance data protection so you can avoid penalties and loss of reputation from leaked sensitive business data.
PingDataGovernance improves support for automated deployment environments. When deploying an environment, the API Server adds a simple status endpoint which can be used in auto-healing and auto-scaling scenarios with orchestrators like Kubernetes optimizing your IT resources. Additionally, the Policy Admin GUI includes small updates which support building Docker images that can be used across several environments.
