Ping at RSA 2017: Identity Drives Security
Data breaches have always been top of mind for security professionals, but today, they're on everyone's radar, making data security a hot topic for the media, businesses and even consumers. As we all wrestle with the question of how to protect data, one data type continues to dominate the conversation--identity.
All data is not equal, and identity data consistently ranks as the most valuable to organizations, and of course to criminals. But there's another reason identity data is increasingly at the center of security discussions. While it may be most at risk for theft, it also holds the key to stronger security.
The old data security paradigm of concentrating defenses around the data center perimeter no longer applies in a digital, cloud world where data is generated and used across a far-flung mix of mobile apps, websites and IoT devices that exist outside firewalls. The new paradigm of identity defined security means that security controls are applied directly to and through identity data. In essence, identity drives security.
Putting identity in the driver's seat is a smart way forward. Security driven by identity and access management provides a comprehensive security framework that mitigates many of the breach risks that exist today. It also offers extensible capabilities that can help address hacks that may be on the horizon. Plus, it helps organizations comply with the many security regulations evolving worldwide.
We're very much looking forward to the chance to speak with many of you at RSA about the security challenges you're facing. We also have some exciting new things we're eager to share. Ping has been working hard to deliver even more identity management capabilities that help enterprises resolve their most daunting and complex security challenges.
We invite you to visit our main booth 1015 in the South Hall...you can't miss our bright, red RV.
