DENVER, Colo. — July 22, 2013 — Ping Identity®, The Identity Security Company™, today announced it is the first identity security provider to be listed on the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Security, Trust & Assurance Registry (STAR). The CSA STAR is a publicly accessible registry that documents the security controls provided by various cloud computing offerings, thereby helping users assess the security of cloud providers they currently use or with whom they are considering contracting.
Committed to encouraging security best practices for cloud providers and promoting higher quality procurement experiences, Ping Identity joins Amazon, Box, HP, Microsoft and other leading cloud vendors in the STAR Registry. The Registry is based in part on the CSA Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire (CAIQ), a guide on the industry-accepted ways to document what security controls exist in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
“The CSA STAR is a Who’s Who of industry-leading cloud providers, which recognize the value of making it simple and accessible for users to assess the security of solutions they may be using or considering,” said Jim Reavis, co-founder and executive director, CSA. “We are thrilled Ping Identity has joined CSA STAR as one of the first identity security companies and appreciate their continued support in furthering the mission of the Cloud Security Alliance.”
Ping Identity provides identity security solutions to more than 1,000 of the world’s largest companies, government organizations and cloud businesses. The company’s simple, proven and secure identity and access management solutions enable single sign-on (SSO), federated identity management, mobile identity security, API security and social login. Ping Identity products are exclusively standards-based with support for OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML and SCIM.
“As identity enables a new era of collaboration and business agility, the role of identity security standards and cloud management is critical,” said Patrick Harding, CTO, Ping Identity. “Ping Identity’s participation in CSA’s STAR enables IT security professionals to see that our identity security solutions are compliant with CSA’s published best practices and we look forward to working with other cloud experts on furthering the support for security practices.”
