BioConnect has announced version 5.0 of its Enterprise biometrics platform for unified access control.

The upgrade brings biometric unity across physical and digital authentication, with a series of new features.

Operated through BioConnect Link, the company’s key component of the Unified Mobile Access solution, BioConnect Enterprise 5.0 introduces global biometric template distribution and simplified onboarding procedures.

The platform also offers support for touchless access through facial recognition devices or mobile applications.

Compatible mobile authenticator apps include Cisco’s Duo App, Okta, and PingID, in addition to the company’s own BioConnect Mobile authenticator.

Version 5.0 of the company’s ENterprise solution also introduces support for BioConnect LR1, a solution capable of five different authentication modes. These include multi-card access, fingerprint biometrics, a combination of card and mobile face biometrics, card and digital multi-factor authentication, and card with compliance (wellness declaration) authentication.

BioConnect 5.0 also introduces touchless face, mask detection, and thermal monitoring via Suprema’s new F2 reader, as well as updated data analytics and reporting tools.

Passwordless authentication with PingZero

Passwordless solutions expert Ping Identity has unveiled a new tool for secure authentication.

Dubbed PingZero, the solution offers a suite of passwordless authentication features based on the company’s Intelligent Identity platform. PingZero utilizes a combination of device and browser settings, biometrics, and the FIDO2 standard to provide companies with secure, passwordless authentication.

Other features of PingZero include user self-registration with QR codes, customization for branded mobile applications, and continuous authentication.

Commenting on the news, Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity, said the new solution is designed to optimize the authentication process for enterprises.

“At Ping, we are committed to delivering secure, convenient experiences for our customers, and removing friction is a key component in our innovation evolution,” Durand explained.

“PingZero enables businesses to work smarter by eliminating the time wasted managing and resetting passwords and instead provides users with more secure access to what they need to get work done efficiently.”

The new solution from Ping is compatible with various applications, including mobile, SaaS, and legacy applications.

It is also available as part of different security and authentication suits from Ping like Customer360 and Workforce360.
