Mortgage Choice Provides Franchisees with Seamless Single Sign-on to Apps
Australian financial services provider Mortgage Choice provides a range of financial services through its national network of financial advisors and mortgage brokers. Their franchise model allows Mortgage Choice to provide their Aussie customer base with a more personalised experience through more than 450 local service providers.
For this to work on the back end, Mortgage Choice must provide their franchisees with easy access to the resources they need, including both legacy and new applications. In today’s financial services environment, that also includes enabling access across multiple channels and user devices, maintaining security requirements, and the extensive use of APIs to expose and consume customer data.
Beyond their functional needs, Mortgage Choice also wanted to deliver a seamless experience for their more than 1,100 users nationwide. To achieve this, they needed to provide a single, easy-to-use interface for their franchise users that would make it simple for them to access all of the applications they need.
Defining Identity and Access Management (IAM) Requirements
Mortgage Choice wanted to provide an outstanding experience for their franchisees. But security couldn’t be sacrificed. Led by Vincent ten Krooden, Head of Technology, the Mortgage Choice team hoped to find an identity and access management platform that could meet their needs for security and experience without having to build a solution themselves. They prioritised the need for easy integration with existing systems to maintain progress on their digital transformation and show a quick return on investment. At the same time, they wanted an IAM solution with the flexibility to integrate with future systems down the road, so they can minimise configuration demands and become increasingly agile.
Building upon Employee Single Sign-on to Provide an Integrated IAM Solution
Since Mortgage Choice was already using PingFederate for employee single sign-on, they included Ping in their competitive review, ultimately finding in the Ping Intelligent Identity Platform a match for their requirements. They’re now using PingOne to provide SSO for their franchise use case, enabling seamless sign-on to multiple cloud services. The Mortgage Choice team relies on PingAccess to provide endpoint security for their many APIs and on PingDirectory to provide enterprise-grade user profile mappings.
Supported by the capabilities of the Ping Intelligent Identity Platform, Mortgage Choice is able to:
Explains ten Krooden, “Our unique franchise business model requires fine-grain control over both domain and functional security for 453 franchises and over 1,100 users nationally. Ping enabled our new broker platform to provide access to these users and our back-office staff, all with the degree of flexibility needed.”
He continues, “Not only did we choose the right solution, but we deployed it in just two sprint cycles, and now have the ability to manage and extend it moving forward.”
