While Ping Identity's solution offerings have grown over the years, our commitment to leadership and innovation in identity federation remains intact. In 2015 PingFederate was certified under the OpenID Provider conformance profile, demonstrating our commitment to enabling our customers to serve as Identity Providers (IdP's) under the OpenID Connect (OIDC) framework. We are pleased to announce our continued support of the OpenID community through our recent Relying Party (RP) conformance profile certification of PingAccess and PingFederate. Learn more about the certification here.
Ping Identity's implementation enables a single point of integration with OpenID Connect for all existing and future applications. Customers using PingFederate and PingAccess are able to centrally manage connections to their users' OpenID Providers and will benefit from our extremely flexible integration options to OpenID Connect enable any application with minimal to no changes. The Relying Party (RP) conformance profile certification ensures our customers continued interoperability with any external identity provider using OpenID Connect.
The certification is a commitment to our current and future customers, as well as our implementation partners and the developer community that we see OpenID Connect as the principal protocol used in identity federation moving forward. Alongside the OpenID community, we believe that a single framework to secure APIs, native mobile applications and browser applications should use the same foundations on which modern application architectures and APIs are built. As more companies engage with consumers through mobile and IoT, a standards based approach to the secure exchange of identity data will become increasingly important to the continued growth of this type of engagement.
