A few weeks ago, Ping was named as one of the top five places to work by the Denver Business Journal, and the highest ranked tech company, amongst Denver-based companies with 100 or more employees. The awards highlight companies in the Denver area whose operations are providing the top workplace environment and engaging their teams. Given the large number of companies in the Denver area, I am really proud of our achievement.
Results were based solely on employee feedback. Employees for each nominated company were asked to complete employee engagement survey that focused on team effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, manager effectiveness, compensation and benefits. Our result is a tribute to our employees (we fondly refer to ourselves as Ping Identians) as they are the reason workplace and culture thrive.
According to Gallup, one-third of employees are engaged at work. At Ping, that number is 86 percent, based the Denver Business Journal's survey results. One of my priorities has always been to ensure that we live by our values. At Ping, those values are clear:
Be transparent. Always be proactively open and honest.
Stay brave. Challenge the status quo, take bold steps.
Always grow. Challenge yourself to think and dream big.
Relish life. Make every moment count.
Be extraordinary. Deliver results the right way.
One Ping. We win or lose together. Nothing here is a spectator sport.
Establishing a value-driven workplace starts at the top but it also needs to be supported by every level of the organization. I'm a stickler for taking care of employees. My priorities are: 1) employees, 2) customers, and 3) shareholders/owners - in that order. In my view, this is the only way to achieve sustainable results and true market leadership. My belief is that by taking care of my people, they are free to spend 100% of their energy looking after the needs of our customers. If we serve customers well, our investors will be rewarded. It's a simple formula.
Data suggests employee engagement diminishes the larger a company gets, so we're mindful of the need to continue investing in our people. While there is never a finish line when it comes to improving the workplace, Ping will continue to listen to feedback, and take care of our most valuable asset - our employees.
