KuppingerCole released its first 2016 Leadership Compass report for Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Platforms, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. Ping Identity consistently ranked high across KuppingerCole's evaluation criteria. As one of the first IAM vendors that recognized the growing demand for consumer-facing identity management capabilities, this is a significant accomplishment for us. It's further validation as we accelerate our already strong commitment to consumer IAM in addition to enterprise IAM for employees and partners.
Consumer Identity and Access Management is rapidly evolving in response to the ubiquitous adoption of digital business strategies. As more consumers engage with businesses via mobile, online and IoT channels, companies need effective ways to authenticate users and authorize access to data. Businesses also need to analyze and use unprecedented volumes of data to increase customer engagement--all while employing the most stringent cybersecurity measures and privacy controls.
We've made considerable progress in developing CIAM technologies that address these requirements, and now with the recent acquisition of UnboundID and its purpose-built CIAM capabilities, Ping Identity offers the most complete CIAM platform in the market. Ping's strong standing in KuppingerCole's CIAM Leadership Compass follows on the heels of our leadership ranking in KuppingerCole's Access Management and Federation Leadership Compass earlier this year. It signifies that we're working on the right technologies as we strengthen our customer identity management offerings and that our focus on security, scale and performance is advancing the state of the industry, which has been always been our goal.
KuppingerCole ranked Ping favorably for each category in its product evaluation criteria, including:
Integration (with other Ping products)
Interoperability (with other vendor products)
The report also highlighted that many of our product strengths fill industry gaps. We provide the largest number of authentication options compared with competitive offerings. Plus, we offer extensive multi-protocol and standards support, and we deliver many out of the box connectors to SaaS and IDaaS solutions. KuppingerCole also commented on Ping's ability to successfully implement large-scale deployments in the cloud and on-premises as well as hybrid environments to give our customers maximum flexibility.
In addition to rating Ping's products highly, KuppingerCole also ranked the company as the top challenger in overall CIAM segment leadership with strong scores in technology leadership, innovation and market strength. According to the report, the Ping Identity Platform "is a high performing and scalable system which should be evaluated when conducting RFIs."
We don't take praise like this lightly, and we're honored to be considered at the top of the growing CIAM market with several strong contenders. It's a solid achievement in a relatively short amount of time, but we won't rest on our laurels. We're eager to keep pushing ahead. CIAM is still in its early phases and there are tremendous opportunities for innovation and growth.
