An amazing thing happens when a healthy plant with strong roots really begins to blossom. Sure, its maturity and beauty start catching attention. But what's most fascinating is that it starts spreading seeds to inspire new growth.
If you think about your favorite flower, this means that the blossom will sprout more of the same flower in the same bed--or even in a different patch of soil nearby. But with a growing career at Ping, sometimes this means something different entirely. Sometimes, a growing career can be transplanted to serve another purpose.
That's exactly the case with this week's featured PingIdentian, Christi Wall. What began as a role that was familiar to her in People Operations (or HR as her previous employers call it) grew into a whole new opportunity altogether. Her ability to nurture others and empower them with the tools they need to succeed spawned the idea that she has what it takes to empower our sales team. And it even meant a new role needed to be created.
Let's see what Christi had to say about her journey at Ping:
What was your background prior to joining Ping? Prior to joining Ping, I worked in Human Resources for the primary contractor of the U.S. Antarctic Program. While that position afforded me a once-in-a-lifetime experience to work in Antarctica, I had heard amazing things about Ping and was always intrigued by the company.
What was your first position at Ping? My first role at Ping was in the People Operations (HR) department as a People Operations Partner, a position I stayed in for two years.
What is your current position at Ping? I've transitioned into my current role as a Sales Enablement Manager. In this role, I'm responsible for equipping our sales team with the tools they need to have effective conversations with customers and prospects.
What has been the biggest surprise about your career path at Ping? I never thought I'd be a part of establishing a new function within an organization. Being able to help build Sales Enablement from the ground up has been a very challenging and rewarding experience.
What are your career expectations? Sales Enablement is a fast-growing function that many organizations are increasingly investing in, so I'm eager to continue building my skills and knowledge as the function continues to form.
Do you feel Ping allows its employees the opportunity to grow? Absolutely! I can honestly say that working at Ping has opened doors that I didn't even know existed, and I'm extremely grateful for the opportunities I've been given here!
By Christi's story, it's pretty easy to see that a career at Ping is what you make of it. No one will complain if you just want to grow in the garden where you're most comfortable. But if you see a sunnier patch where you'd like to set your roots, those opportunities are here as well.
