We joke that since I am Ping's Community Evangelist, that I am the Rev. Mr. Ping, spreading the gospel of Ping Love.
We make no secret at Ping that we love our customers, trying to be a partner, not a vendor. We work to earn trust. For our customers that came to this year's Cloud Identity Summit in Napa, we wanted to make an already special event a little more special. Our goal was to help them build relationships - with each other, with the Ping Identians attending the conference, and with the assembled identerati.
Worldwide User Group Meeting
Ping Identity Worldwide User Group held their second annual meeting on Sunday afternoon, before the conference started. We had an awesome afternoon. Led by Alan Goho, Bechtel, the leaders of Ping's local user groups planned the meeting. This included user presented topics like Zero Sign On by Ranjan Jain, Cisco, Optimizing iPad App Users Authentication Experiences Using CloudDesktop by Ian Shaffer, Otsukua Pharmaceuticals, How PingFederate is Key to United Health Group's Member IDP Service by Carlos Garcia, UHG, and Certificate Management by Alan Goho, Bechtel. As requested by the members, Scott Tomilson from Ping talked about the advanced features in PingFederate 7.0 including OpenID Connect and SCIM and Loren Russon, Ping's Senior Director of Product Management, led a discussion about what Ping sees in the near future.
After the meeting we adjourned to the patio for a wonderful evening of drinks and dinner. Napa does have some fine wines!
Customer meet & greet
When organizing the Worldwide User Group Meeting, many members and customers were disappointed that they couldn't attend due to travel constraints. So we arranged another patio party Tuesday evening to close out the day. We invited Ping customers and Ping Identians attending the conference to come meet each other or to renew friendships. Originally planned for an hour, we ended up extending the party well past two hours.
Cigar Identity Summit
Based on feedback we got, we think our efforts to build relationships and trust were a big success. I know I was sure feeling the love - the Ping Love.
