Ping Identity User Groups are user driven, Ping supported. Our customers steer the agenda and the conversation in general. Curious about what they discuss? Ping customers can start or join a local Ping User Group to engage with their peers firsthand.
In the meantime, get the latest here on the Support blog in a new series, starting with this inaugural article: "Overheard at Ping User Group Meetings."
As popular User Group topics arise I'll give you the details right here, so stay tuned.
Here's a topic that comes up every meeting - certificate management. For some it's a pain point in their work day. We've heard things similar to:
We only use encryption for a couple and still certificate connection management is one of the most difficult things we do.
We use all of the same signing certificates but it's still a pain.
Peer-to-peer discussions about best practices get very interesting. Self-signed? Anchored? Encrypted? Everyone does it differently, which means: there is a lot to learn from one another on the subject.
Some have said things like:
We manage thousands of certs. It's all automated, mostly homegrown. No self-signed. We have multi-year expirations but often personnel has changed on the distant end.
We went to 1 year expirations, just to deal with that problem.
So, we started an online discussion thread to keep the conversation going outside of User Group meetings. Join in here.
We have also been asked "Does Ping have any training or documentation on Certificate Management?"
That's a big "Yes."
Check out the blog post and upcoming training below for more helpful information on the subject.
