NEXTCAPITAL GROUP INVESTS IN SEAMLESS PARTNER AUTHENTICATION WITH HELP FROM PING IDENTITY
NextCapital is a financial services company with stringent requirements. VP of Information Security Sebastiaan Gybels discusses how Ping helps meet the company’s secure authentication needs.
NextCapital’s Digital Advice Platform is a holistic service built around the investor, offering integrated planning, advice and portfolio management capabilities. Because of the breadth of advice services, NextCapital serves a broad range of investor types, from the low-balance beginning investor to the sophisticated high net worth investor.
NextCapital partners with financial institutions, which handle the first step of authentication before passing their users over to NextCapital. They needed a seamless integration solution so that the end users wouldn’t notice that they were being transitioned from the partners’ platform to the NextCapital platform.
In the financial sector, as in many other industries, risks and threats are continuously evolving, and NextCapital needed tools to keep pace with these threats. NextCapital was challenged to find a solution that would comply with SEC requirements and partner agreements to protect sensitive information in the best ways possible.
NextCapital choose the Ping Identity platform to meet their goal of secure, seamless digital experiences for its partners. The company used Ping Identity’s comprehensive single sign-on (SSO) solution and access management capabilities to provide its partners with flexible and customizable identity management.
When it came time to choose a multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution, PingID was a natural fit. “Once we had PingFederate and PingAccess in place already, the decision to get PingID was a no-brainer,” Gybels said. “It was very easy to add onto our existing solution.”
“With Ping, our partners can customize the authentication process to make it secure and familiar for their users,” Vice President of Information Security Sebastiaan Gybels said. “The end user who logs onto the solution doesn’t see a difference between the financial institution’s website and our solution. The experience feels fast and seamless.”
NextCapital has met their goals of creating a secure and seamless authentication process for its end users and plans to scale that up to 500,000 users. “We’re in a fast growing market, and we need a solution that can keep up,” Gybels said. “Ping not only meets our current needs, but is also constantly innovating. As our platform becomes more robust, continuous collaboration with Ping is really key for us.”
