How do Ping's products compare with identity stack federation components?
Virtually every identity management "stack" includes an identity federation component, either bundled with the system or available as an option. And yet, Ping customers still buy our solutions, even though they already have federation options as part of their "incumbent" IdM stack. Why is this?
Identity federation is not a core competency or key focus of the large identity stack vendors. It’s just one small capability bundled with the stack. Our customers that have tried (and failed) to go the IdM stack route have reported a large amount of custom consulting and integration work and substantial IdM stack upgrades required to get them working, adding up to lengthy, costly, deployments. The IdM vendors are also known for providing poor support. Lastly, many of the identity stack federation solutions implement their own proprietary SSO instead of using industry standards like SAML, which makes their SSO solutions even more difficult and expensive to deploy.
Ping Identity's sole focus is Internet Identity Security. It's all we do, and our products are designed to work with what you already have. PingFederate plugs in to all leading identity stacks without requiring a single component upgrade. It can be downloaded and installed in hours, and deployed in days. Our products support all versions of major identity management standards and are in production at hundreds of customer sites. We are known for providing exceptional customer support and services—which explains why 99% of Ping customers renew their support year after year.
