STS Token Translators

April 27, 2009 , Andre Durand | Ping Identity

In case you missed it, the new PingFederate 6.0 with its built-in Security Token Server (STS) now supports several token translators out of the box, including:

  • Kerberos
  • Oracle Access Manager (OAM)
  • OpenToken
  • SiteMinder
  • Username/Password
  • X509
  • SAML 1.1
  • SAML 2.0

In addition to this, it also suports STS client software development kits (SDKs) for Java and .NET with the WSE3 framework.

Erik's Gravatar One question, how would this implement into a CDN? CDN's can and will proxy back simple token-based authentication requests to ensure
that deep linking is not possible. Does SAML need to be passed as well? Or can translation happen to where, once the end user is authenticated
the translator can put out a token in the URL to be handled on the CDN proxy request? Thanks.
